The Power Of Words

The Power Of Words

Any word we decide to use shapes our life. Words have power. Their power arises from our emotional responses when we read, speak, or hear them.

This is the view of artist Pablo Allison shared with the Love Welcomes team during a creative workshop to help understand the language we use all the time.

During the workshop Nada explains what each letter of the word 'Colonize' means to her.

The workshops explored the words connected with migration and provided everyone with the opportunity to listen and learn from one another.

The team at Love Welcomes explored the words that related to their own journeys and used their own photography to investigate them further.

The exploration of the words led to the creation of a stunning mural painted by the team including the words.

The mural included words such as sacrifice, abandon, strength, integrity, survival, love, difference, home, rise, illusions and more.

The workshop and mural were organised between gallery Stella Dore, artist Pablo Allison and Love Welcomes.
