Hand-Painted Ceramic Biscuit Tray — Watermelon & Keffiyeh

Some things are worth serving slowly. This hand-painted ceramic tray is made for exactly that: a few biscuits, a couple of pretzels, a slice of summer fruit, and a cup of coffee that no one is rushing you to finish.
The design carries two motifs. At the centre, a watermelon slice — red, black, green and white, the colours of the Palestinian flag. The fruit became a quiet stand-in for the flag when displaying it was restricted, and it has been worn, painted and shared as a symbol of Palestinian identity and solidarity ever since. Framing it is the keffiyeh pattern: the fishnet grid and olive-leaf border drawn from the black-and-white scarf woven in Palestine for generations, each element traditionally read as a mark of the land — the nets of the sea, the leaves of the olive tree, the roads of trade.
Every piece is shaped and painted by hand by artisans in the West Bank, so no two trays are identical. Small variations in line and brushstroke are the maker's signature, not a flaw — and buying one supports the workshops keeping this craft alive.
