Handprinted & Handwoven Beach Bag - Handmade in Fiji
This beautiful bag carries the spirit of the South Pacific, handwoven with care by women artisans in Fiji through the Rise Beyond the Reef program. Its inner layer is crafted from durable voivoi (pandanus) leaves, evoking the textures of sandy island beaches. Inside, a handprinted canvas outer adds a vibrant, personal touch, blending tradition with everyday function. Whether you're headed to the market or the shoreline, this bag is a meaningful reminder of the strength of women and the beauty of sustainable craft.

About the Artisans & Production Process:
Coastal partner communities produce handwoven pandanus bag inserts. These inserts can be easily stacked for transport on horseback or bundled together for transport by boat. Upon arrival at our office, the handwoven bag inserts are re-shaped and trimmed before sewing the handprinted outside layer with an industrial machine. Through the production of pandanus bag inserts, women learn multi-dimensional weaving techniques providing an opportunity to beginning and mid-skill weavers to access a market for their handwork. Our Studio Print Collection is screen-printed by hand at our office by a team of master and apprentice printers. This provides professional job training opportunities to youth from our rural partner communities, including persons with disabilities.
