Bright bands of red and saffron circle the top. Below, a painted vine winds around the ball, full of red buds and blue and green leaves. Every line is painted by hand, so no two baubles are the same. A glossy glaze makes the colours glow on the tree.

It is made in the West Bank, Palestine, where painted pottery has been a family craft for generations. The bold colours and flowing flowers come from that tradition. Even under occupation, artisans keep making beautiful things. Choosing colour and joy, when life is hard, is its own way of saying: we are still here.
